During our family vacation at Thomas' Retreat, we were delighted by the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that made our stay truly enjoyable. As a marine biologist and eco-tourism advocate, I was pleased to see that the place is locally owned, providing employment opportunities for the community. The friendly staff, including Nurdin and Christine, catered to our needs with warmth and hospitality. Thomas himself went above and beyond to assist us in organizing local village visits, showing a genuine care for guests' experiences. The family-friendly amenities were a highlight for us, especially the spacious rooms with comfortable beds that ensured a good night's rest after a day of exploring Bukit Lawang.Our children, under 12 years old, were thrilled by the engaging live music night and the close proximity to the great swimming hole by the river. The reasonably priced restaurant offered a variety of delicious local dishes that pleased even the little ones' picky palates. Thomas' Retreat provided a family-friendly environment with professional service, making our stay memorable and enjoyable.
